Here at Gandy-Griffin VFW Post 4262, we care deeply about our community! That's why we've forged strong bonds year after year through efforts like summer lunch programs for kids, feeding the homeless, veterans assistance, and free distribution of clothing and personal hygiene products.
This year we are proud to say the we have joined forces with Senior Resources and Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels recipients are the elderly and disabled adults in our community who cannot maintain an adequate, healthy diet, either because of transportation or financial constraints. Nearly three-fourths of the clients are at or below 200% of the national poverty level. Without meal delivery, many of the clients would be forced to choose between paying for food, or for medication and household expenses.
