Buddy Poppies

The Buddy Poppy Program has helped the VFW live up to its motto, "to honor the dead by helping the living." The Buddy Poppy - small red flower symbolic of the blood shed in World War I by millions of Allied soldiers in defense of freedom - was originally sold to provide relief for the people of war devastated France. Later, its sale directly benefited thousands of disabled and down-and-out American veterans.

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Kosovo, the global war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace!

To help reduce the transmission of COVID-19 between adults Commander Tony Brown announced that despite the CDC and Governors rule to make Mask wear optional. We at VFW Post 4262 will continue to wear mask until the commander sees fit for the safety of all members.

"This being our 75th Anniversary Year (1945-2020). I'm deeply honored to have the opportunity to not only be a part of the post but to lead the comrades thru this historical year.
